Next week we are going back…to “our” small apartment with the red couch…to “our” neighborhood in the 15th Arrondisement…to the bistros and museums and gardens..to ride the Metro into great adventures…to take iPhotos of everything
because…
We are off our rockers…off for adventures…just off…

I’m interested in staying in Paris. Can you recommend any nice self catering places?

We were just in Paris for two weeks in May and loved it so much we are going back for two more weeks in the same apartment. We used Untours (http://www.untours.com/reg.asp?RID=326 ) to find the apartment. We love the Arrondisement (15th) because it is untouristy, quiet, and we felt it gave our stay an accurate picture of what it would be like to be a resident of the wonderful city. Also the apartment is a short hop from three Metro stations…what a great system to get you anywhere! Does self-catering (not in my American lingo) mean include a kitchen? because ours had a really nice one (and a washer dryer) with food stalls just a half-block out the door. We were in heaven even with heavy rain in May…we are thinking Sept. is going to have perfect weather!!!

Thanks Lois for the feedback. Self-catering means you can make your own food so there is a kitchen. I’ll check out the website.

I regret that our friends will not be meeting us on the corner in front of the cafe and greeting us with bright “bonjours” each morning…will not be the same!!!

Lois, you have to really fulfill Terry’s dream and mine to see Catherine Deneuve in person and take a photo for both him and me at Bon Marché! If that doesn’t happen, you can enjoy the artwork!!!! And the food!!! And buy a scarf (foulard).

Barcelona it was going to be, but then a week after we got back from Paris we looked at each other and said “that was fun and there is so much more to see”. There was still a two week slot at the Blomet apartment so we decided to go for it and put Barcelona off for a year…who knew? Will I ever sleep on a plane?
