that I didn’t know three weeks ago…
*TM’s and my vacations are not really vacations in terms of rest and relaxation…I suspected this before but now there is proof because we both wore our FitBits. Our average was 15,000 steps each day book-ended with one to two hours of train travel on each end to get to the cities we wanted to visit. Since we got home late Thursday night it has been one nap after another.
*The Swiss Railway Saver Pass is the best deal going. Fifteen days of unlimited train and bus travel with discounts when we switched to trams to go up tall mountains. Plus free entry to museums and castles.
*Calves that look like cantaloupes are beautiful and a healthy goal for walking.
*Rain is good even when you travel, especially if you are from California where there is none.
*Trekking poles work to take the pressure off your knees. They are now on my Christmas list.
Here I am at Aletsch Glacier (a Unesco World Heritage Site) with borrowed trekking poles before the walk down…because what goes up must get down, somehow…
