Cruise…

When we came to Paris in May, we were interested in an illuminated cruise on the Seine but we thought that the sun setting at 10:00 p.m. would put us out so late that the next day would have its touring compromised because it would be hard getting out of bed in the morning. In September, however, twilight is at 8:30 and we gave it a go. We went past Princess Di’s memorial on the way to the dock.

We boarded the large barge with multitudes of other tourists for a float past buildings we had only seen from the land side before. It was a perfect, warm summery kind of evening. Night photography in motion is not an iPhone forte but some of my photos came out well enough.

We were having so much fun we even went and sat in a cafe afterward and didn’t miss our date with sightseeing the next morning.
This is my non-alcoholic mix of fruit juices topped with a marshmallow and fruit candy (only in Paris!) Joanna is now rolling her eyes and muttering, “Way to kick up your heels, mom and dad…” and, yes, it was…

  1. Lois, it was nice to see the progression of the evening sky – that special blue night that is Paris. Glad you took the plunge to stay out “late” in Paris!!!!!!
