Food, two…

Yes, it is true, I love paper. Especially when it is wrapped around good things to eat. In Paris even the wrappings are an art form…

Turns into two mini-canelles (which we settled on after we found that the almond croissants rumored to be the best in Paris were already sold out.) Not actually second place…pretty good in and of themselves!

I have been married to my husband for many, many years and I have always marveled that a chocoholic such as myself could be married to someone that didn’t like desserts. Then, we get to Paris and he insists we try a Paris-Brest. A pastry named after a bicycle race between Paris and the city of Brest. Filled with hazelnuts and praline it took a few days to consume but was so worth the trip…

Does this look like a bicycle tire? It definitely does not taste like one. Paris affects people in interesting ways!

My suggestion to you is that if you are on your way to see Place des Voges and to see where Victor Hugo wrote Les Miserables you should stop here for a chocolate dipped Florentine cookie.

There it is on the left. On your way back to the Metro stop again and get another for an afternoon snack and don’t forget to look at the baskets filled with blocks of chocolate.

In this environment, even the mustard looks artistic…
