Tuileries…

After a morning of walk, walk, walk through the Louvre, we found lunch at Le Souffle. I love this color blue…

Inside: savory and sweet souffles…we kept to savory because we had big plans for sweet things a little later in the day…

Although we stayed with the savory we had a ringside seat as our neighbors also got sweet with liquors and chocolate sauces to pour into the center. Tempted, tempted…
So to walk it off, over to the Tuileries Garden.

Here we went into the Musee de L’Orangerie. This building houses Les Nympheas, large paintings by Monet of his gardens. Photos are not allowed and I can only say that it was an honor to sit in these oval rooms with our good friends, soaking in the beauty of Monet’s work. A highlight of the trip. This is a photo of a post card I purchased which gives an idea of the oval shape of the room.

The L’Orangerie also contains on it’s lower level the collection of art by Walter-Guillaume. Examples of Renoir, Cezanne, Rousseau, Modigliani, and Derain. Saturated with art, again, we walked back across the garden for our afternoon treat.
