I am not sure, but these first pictures might belong in my Metro Art post. Right before we left the Palais Royal Metro Station to go into the Louvre there was this amazing art piece titled “Huichol Heart and Soul” by Santos de la Torre. Eighty panels, uncounted beads. Nice way to start a morning tour.
Then it was into the museum itself in search of Mona (very difficult to get a good picture of her due to glass, the crowds, and the distance you are kept away from her), Venus, and the Winged Victory.
This Smithsonian article tells about how Mona Lisa became famous after being stolen from the museum in 1911.
