Cemeteries…

Our plane arrived in Paris so early in the morning that after dropping off our suitcases at our apartment we went for a walk. The Montparnasse Cemetery was not far away so we walked through.

There were even some modern grave markers

Although we tried looking for famous people the only one we happened to walk by was Serge Gainsbourg a dissipated singer with a following, still. Evidently, if you take the Metro to see the grave you are to throw your ticket on it.

And then our second to last day we planned to walk through Pere Lachaise Cemetery. It was forecast to rain so we hung out in a cafe waiting for it to stop, but it didn’t. We walked anyway but did not try to find Jim Morrison…next trip!
