I am totally loving Snapseed app for the iPad. While in Seattle we stayed in the University District. It was very much like Berkeley near it’s University. Exciting and dynamic with lots going on, even though we were there the weekend after graduation. We took quite a few walks looking for meals and just looking. The days were dark and wet, not much light. The center street of the district was marked with wonderful small sculptures on it’s light posts. I tried to get pictures of the sculptures but I was shooting up, trying to miss trees and buildings. Everything was very dark, not many shots seemed to have turned out. Today, I put them all through Snapseed and could actually save them. I cropped, adjusted, blurred the edges, pumped up the drama, and added a frame. These sculptures marked stores and were signed with the artist’s names on one side. The book store had a soaring book and The Wooly Mammoth was a store with outdoor supplies. I loved the concept. Think it might be better than flower baskets (which are lovely and I enjoy them, too), but sculptures wouldn’t require as frequent maintenance. I suspect their was fund raising going on with it. Kind of like the Giants selling you a brick with your name on it to go in their hall of fame walkway. Art for the public good, I like that.
