Blooms of August
Epilobium canum
It is strange to say, but in California this summer there has not been much sun. Still, August brings the California fuchsia into its glory. Nothing else in our garden has such a bright red bloom and this plant always marks the advent of August.
The Chalk Dudley has already spent its blooms, but its shape and chalkiness add such texture that it is almost like a beacon landmark. Here it is as a layered collage from the iPhone.
