Art and a pink monkeyflower in a native plant garden…

First blooms of the spring…

They are coming, they are coming…

Here is the first Baby Blue-eyes (a volunteer from last year, we never planted them in this place). I guess that makes it a bonus baby.

Baby Blue-eyes (Nemophila menziesii)

and, tah, dah, Lewisia:

Lewisia, Lewisia cotyledon

Lewisia flower

An update on the flowering cherry.

All the blossoms are open now, and as you step out the front door the millions of bees buzzing make you think you are about to lift off the earth. Kind of like the movie “Up”, but something natural instead of balloons making the house fly.

In a week or so, a big wind will come up and blow all of the petals to the ground and our front yard will look as if it had just been in a pink snowstorm.

Here is a bonus picture I took on our trip to Jimtown a few weeks ago. I do not think this was a winery, maybe a horse ranch, but look at this long driveway under all these blooming trees. Amazing…
